Cooperate Connecticut, in partnership with the New Economy Coalition, is hosting Solidarity Economy 101 — a 60-minute, introductory webinar designed to break down the fundamentals of our economic system. Participants will explore definitions of “economy,” “capitalism,” and “solidarity economy,” while gaining insight into the history, vision, and diverse strategies of the solidarity economy movement. The session will also highlight local examples of this work in action.
The webinar is facilitated by Emilie Miyauchi (Cooperative Economic Alliance of New York City), Julian Rose (Endstate ATL), and varun khattar sharma (Cooperate Connecticut), and is part of a four-part series aimed at making cooperative models and democratic governance accessible to new audiences.
Upcoming sessions include:
- Co-Op 101 – Friday, June 20
- Democratic Governance 101 – Friday, July 18
- Black Cooperative Histories – Friday, August 22
These webinars are designed for flexible participation — attendees can simply listen or engage via chat and Q&A. Sessions will be recorded and made available publicly on YouTube, with closed captioning provided. Spanish interpretation is planned for future events.
